My kid is usually restless at bedtime, but this one had them lying still, actually listening to the orchestra tell the story. The Carnival of the Animals narration is a nice bonus, and the whole thing runs long enough to really settle the room.
David Bowie's voice is so perfectly theatrical for this story that even I found myself listening to the end without checking my phone. The way the orchestra swells with each animal theme makes it feel like a mini concert, not just a bedtime story. My son asks for it every night now.
