The narrator, David Bowie, tells the children's story of Peter and the Wolf while the orchestra illustrates it. Additionally Leonard Bernstein narrates Camille Saint-Saens’ Carnival of the Animals. A combination of music and storytelling on this double bill will delight children and parents alike in this musical adventure by the Philadelphia Orchestra.

Narrated by David Bowie
My kid is usually restless at bedtime, but this one had them lying still, actually listening to the orchestra tell the story. The Carnival of the Animals narration is a nice bonus, and the whole thing runs long enough to really settle the room.
David Bowie's voice is so perfectly theatrical for this story that even I found myself listening to the end without checking my phone. The way the orchestra swells with each animal theme makes it feel like a mini concert, not just a bedtime story. My son asks for it every night now.
My kid is obsessed with this one — David Bowie’s voice is so distinctive that even I find myself listening in the car. The way the orchestra kicks in during the wolf scene genuinely holds her attention, which is rare for story time.
