The deep dark wood sound effects make the windy night scenes feel genuinely spooky, which my four-year-old loves. It's the sequel so we get the Gruffalo's Child sneaking out, and the narration holds up even after the tenth listen on a long car ride.
My three-year-old knows every word now, and the storytelling on this one is so engaging that even I don't mind hearing it on repeat. The track starts right with the famous warning line, which instantly pulls her into the deep dark wood adventure.
The Gruffalo's Child story is an absolute hit at bedtime—my kid asks for it every night now and actually sits still through the whole thing. The narration keeps the rhyme and rhythm of the book perfectly, so it feels like we’re reading together even when I’m not the one holding the page.
